Yesterday we spoke to a very distressed caller. She and her husband had just been to Specsavers to buy some of their ‘£75′ varifocals (as advertised everywhere!)
She was told that they were only available in a few frames that were a ‘bit rubbish’. She & her husband were directed to some better quality frames and walked out with a quote totalling nearly £500 for the 2 pairs.
Luckily she rang us!
Later that day another customer emailed and was trying to decide whether it was worth saving ’only about £20′ by buying from us. How tempted we were to tell him about our earlier caller … but being the true professionals we are we didn’t … but we did say a LOT of Specsavers customers buy their next pair from us!
Anyway – this morning he has ordered from us. Perhaps he went to buy some £75 varifocals and got the same treatment!
